Alt Gameboys also known as Alt Gameboys episode 13.5 is a special one-off episode that continues the stories of some of the secondary characters of Gameboys. It was recut as the thirteenth episode of the Netflix version, Gameboys Level-Up Edition and functions as its season finale/epilogue. It also introduces a new character, Achilles de Dios.

- The "episode 13.5" mark in the title card is in reference to the fact that Alt Gameboys is set after Gameboys episode 13 Crossing the Line and continues plot points from there.
- The title "Alt Gameboys" is in reference to two things - the alternative boys (outside the two main characters) Terrence and Wesley, and the "alter" community in social media.
- We're introduced to Chatter, the Gameboys universe equivalent of Twitter.
- Alt Gameboys was initially set to be released 11:59PM on Sept 20, 2020, but it got pushed back more than an hour later, effectively releasing it on Sept 21, 2020 instead.
- The dark theme of the logo as well as Terrence going in Night Mode on all his social media accounts can be seen as reflective of his loneliness, boredom and emptiness since he split with Gav.
